Powerful Voice in Government
The Alabama AGC actively participates in the legislative process at all levels of government to support the construction industry. We monitor and influence legislation impacting economic and infrastructure development, advocating for favorable and opposing bills. We keep our members informed during the legislative session through weekly email alerts and website updates. By working with elected officials on industry issues, we strive to create a successful future for construction.

How We Advocate for Alabama’s Construction Industry
Review Legislation & Regulations
- Monitor and analyze proposed legislation and agency regulations.
- Determine AGC’s position on legislative and regulatory issues and develop action plans accordingly.
- Leverage the AGC Legislative Action Center to mobilize member support or opposition to legislation.
- Proactively work to achieve positive changes in safety & environmental regulations, contract terms, and other relevant issues.
- Oppose new regulations that are harmful to the construction industry.
- Develop proactive policy statements on key industry issues.
- Keep members informed about proposed agency rules and regulations and coordinate member responses.
- Receive lobbyist reports from AGC’s Director of Government Affairs during the Legislative session.
Elections & AGCPAC
- Interview candidates for state legislature and federal office
- Recommend financial contributions to candidates supported by AGCPAC
- Recommend support for candidates to AGC America PAC
- Produce AGC Legislative Guide and list of AGC-supported candidates for membership
- Keep AGC members informed of upcoming elections and information via the AGC website

- The Alabama Construction Group (ACG) works with agencies for Alabama’s construction industry to represent their interests. These agencies include:
