Breaking Down Alabama’s General Election Results

AGCPAC Wins Big on Election Day!
As a direct result of the input and support from our members, Election Day was a tremendous success for AGCPAC. Of the 82 candidates we endorsed, 81 won their seat in Tuesday’s General Election. That’s a 99% win rate from AGCPAC! As the largest statewide trade association representing the construction industry, an endorsement from AGCPAC is a high honor and coveted by nearly all candidates. Individuals who receive our support are those who understand the construction industry, have personal relationships with our members, and seek our input on issues at both the state and local level. With our success on Tuesday, AGC members proved that the construction industry can have a major impact on the economy and at the polls. Several AGCPAC-endorsed candidates had noteworthy wins in yesterday’s election. Governor Kay Ivey led the way by receiving over 67% of the votes. Katie Britt will be the first female to represent Alabama in the U.S. Senate. And Mike Kirkland – a 30 year member of AGC with Vulcan Materials – won his race for House District 24. “I would like to congratulate all of the AGCPAC-endorsed candidates who won in the General Election,” said Billy Norrell, CEO of Alabama AGC. “The fact that 99% of candidates we endorsed were victorious is a testament to the active role our members take in their local community.” Thank you to everyone who voted in the General Election. We are proud to have supported such quality candidates and look forward to working with them to build a better Alabama.
