BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –– Alabama AGC hosted its 2021 AGC Convention on June 10-13 in Sandestin, Florida at the Sandestin Hilton. The convention has been held at the Sandestin Hilton for the past 33 years. It was the first convention hosted at the resort when it opened. In 2019, Alabama AGC celebrated its 30th convention as the Sandestin Hilton Celebrated its 30th anniversary.
During the convention, Alabama AGC members were able to enjoy a variety of speakers, activities and events. Convention speakers included Billy Norrell, CEO of Alabama AGC; Rick Pate, Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries; Brooke Lawson, Partner Capell & Howard P.C.; and Professor Richard Burt, PhD, MRICS, Endowed Chair and Head of McWhorter School of Building Science. Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from AGC of America CEO Steve Sandherr and AGC of America President Bob Lanham. Other educational opportunities included a CLC Panel Discussion and Business Session.
Alabama AGC members were also able to partake in a variety of recreational activities and social events including an opening reception with cocktails, pool party, nighttime crab hunt, volleyball tournament,
18-hole golf tournament tee-off and casino night.
