Rick Pate was sworn in on Monday, January 14, 2019 as the Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries.

Pate has been tremendously involved in Alabama AGC. He served as the Statewide Alabama AGC President in 2015 and served as a national level chairman of the Specialty Contractors Council in 2013 & 2014.

He has been President of the Irrigation Association of AL and President of the Greater Montgomery Nurserymen’s Association. Rick also takes an active part in Montgomery civic organizations. These include The Montgomery Rotary Club, Montgomery Auburn Club and the AL Wildlife Federation

In 1982, Rick Pate founded Pate Landscaping in Montgomery. Since then, the company has been a leader in the landscaping and irrigation industry.
