Alex Whaley Sr. Whaley Construction Co.
“Eddie is one of the most effective managers and facilitators I have worked with. He is an asset to our State, our association and our industry. Eddie will do the same on a national level and do it with grace and charm. Thank you for a job well done Eddie.”
Al Stanley – Stanley Construction Co.
“Eddie brings to National AGC a breadth of experience in both domestic and foreign construction markets. As such I think he has worked with and can relate to both the small and large contractors. He also has a genuine appreciation for all members of the project team as I can testify from working as a subcontractor with Caddell. I think all of the positive character traits that he has displayed during the time I have known him on jobsites and within Alabama AGC will transfer well to being a great president for National AGC. Alabama has long been recognized as one of the best chapters in National AGC even though we are not one of the largest in number. The opportunity for someone from Alabama to serve as National President will further bring recognition to the state.”
Billy Norrell, Alabama AGC
“We are proud to have Eddie Stewart represent the State of Alabama as president of the Associated General Contractors of America. In the almost 100 year history of Alabama AGC, he is the first national president from our state to lead AGCA. It’s a thrill for our chapter to watch Eddie bring the Alabama work ethic to such prominence on the national stage.”
Rick Pate – Pate Landscape Co., Inc.
“As a past-president of AL AGC, I think it is good for our membership to understand how respected we are in the AGC of America. As a contractor who has been involved with AGC of America, as national chair of Specialty Contractor Council, I think it cements Alabama’s reputation as one of the best AGC chapters in the nation. As a friend of Eddie and Robin, I am pleased for him to be honored for his contributions to the industry.”
Gary Savage – Chairman of the Board for Alabama AGC
“Eddie Stewart, CEO of Caddell Construction, being inducted as National AGC President in the 100th year of AGC is a fitting tribute to not only Eddie but also the contribution Alabama has and continues to make to the construction industry. Through his years of service in AGC, Eddie clearly understands the challenges facing our industry both locally and on the national level. I cannot think of a couple more capable or more prepared to serve as National AGC President and First Lady than Eddie & Robin Stewart. We are blessed to have them as friends and as national leaders of AGC.”
Johnny Walton – John G. Walton Construction Co., Inc.
“Eddie Stewart will be a great leader and represent Alabama AGC as well as National AGC extremely well. I look forward to next year as stand ready to aid him in any way I can!”
Ben Nevins – BL Harbert International
Having a AGC of America President from AlabamaAGC Chapter was always the dream of the late Henry Hagood, long time CEO of AlabamaAGC. That dream will become a reality at this year’s 99th Annual Convention in New Orleans when Eddie Stewart is inducted as AGC of America President. It is certainly a privilege and a honor for the National President to be from our Chapter. We are so proud of our Chapter’s accomplishments; 1,000+ members strong, financial strength with over $100 million in assets, Chapter of the year for 2004 and 2010, and now a National President. Eddie Stewart bring a wealth of construction experience from both a national and international perspective. He is a proven leader and is acutely aware of the issues the construction industry faces. Eddie has both the tenacity and diplomacy necessary to tackle these issues and lead AGC of America through its centennial year of existence.
