On November 29th, 2018 the Alabama Associated General Contractors and members of its Construction Leadership Council group partnered with Habitat for Humanity to help construct two homes in the area for families in need. Along with the AGC CLC, twenty-one other area businesses joined Habitat for Humanity on their Home for the Holidays project. Alabama AGC member companies who participated include Brasfield and Gorrie, Lakeview Risk Partners, Russo Corp., Prier Construction,
Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, Hartford Insurance and BL Harbert. The sponsorships provided by these corporate groups provided the ability to build the two homes.
This effort took place in Irondale, Alabama and the homes were completely built in a little over two weeks. This is special because it allows the Gray and the Herren families the ability to enjoy the Christmas holidays in their new homes. The families were able to move into their new homes on December 13th, 2018 after the Habitat for Humanity ground-breaking ceremony.
Alabama AGC’s CLC Birmingham President Brad Tew said, “It’s really great to be out here giving back to the community especially around the holiday season. It’s rewarding for us to just play a small part in being able to help these families with a project they are going to be able to enjoy for many years to come.”
